Yes, the title of this post is both gross AND inspirational. It's a direct quote from my 8-year old:
Besides a bumper sticker, I thought this quote would look good as an inspirational-type poster. This photo of my son at the beach might work. (Fun fact-- my son looks like a graceful dancer below but in reality he was just throwing sand).
If I ever open a web store, I'll sell this as a high-res print that can be nicely framed.
In my last post, I lamented* (*bitched) about all the things that needed to get done in time for Christmas. I'm happy to report that I completed my "to do" list on time. One of the things we did right before Christmas was make and decorate sugar cookies.
One friend said we could put the cookie upside down on the plate and leave a note for Santa letting him know that it was a "Pi" cookie:
In the end we left a completely normal decorated cookie for Santa. Boring, I know. Maybe next year we'll try our hand at math-themed cookies.
The bad thing about being off from work is that the lack of a normal routine makes me completely lazy and (apparently) forgetful. This happened today:
There's nothing worse than rushing out of the house with your face unwashed and your body non-caffeinated (I did have time to swipe on some deodorant so at least I didn't smell offensive even if I looked unkempt). Did my son complain during the entire car ride to the doctor? Yes...yes he did. He was miffed that he hadn't eaten breakfast yet but I told him that was actually a GOOD thing because it meant his bloodwork would more accurate (Seriously, the nurse said his cholesterol results would be more reliable since he was fasting, so I consider this a win).
Here's another example of my holiday-induced laziness:
Just consider this a helpful tip for the future. Don't feel like scrubbing a dirty dish? Just put it through the dishwasher four times and THEN scrub it. Voila! Clean dish with minimal effort on your part.
I'm the worst kind of asshole-- I think I'm funny.
